Known for its innovation and commitment to the community, Wallaceburg’s AarKel Tool and Die was honoured as an industry leader on Tuesday, May 17th 2016.

The Wallaceburg and District Chamber of Commerce, along with Chatham-Kent Economic Development Services recognized the tool and die company as their feature industry. AarKel is one of Wallaceburg’s largest employees with 165 employees, and will be marking its 40th anniversary next year.

AarKel engineers and designs custom plastic injection and die-cast tooling for the automotive market.

AarKel president Larry Delaey said the company has been doing well recently.

“Sales have been increasing quite a bit—about 20 per cent last year, and we’re hoping an additional 10 per cent this year,” Delaey said.

The reason for the growth is due to automotive industry picking up. Delaey said AarKel’s clients have been very good to them.

He also credits new owners, and employees for their success.
