COVID-19 Rapid Screening Initiative
Free Rapid Tests Available for Small- and Medium-Sized Businesses under 150 employees!
The Chatham-Kent Chamber of Commerce with the support of the Ridgetown, Tilbury, and Wallaceburg Chambers of Commerce, and in partnership with the Ontario Chamber of Commerce and the Ontario and Canadian governments, has launched the COVID-19 Rapid Screening Initiative. Through this initiative, the Chamber will roll out free rapid tests for small and medium-sized businesses in Chatham-Kent.
These COVID-19 Rapid Screening tests will provide free rapid antigen tests for all businesses in Chatham-Kent, including non-chamber members, with 150 employees or less. All are being welcomed and encouraged to participate in this initiative. The goal of this program is to identify asymptomatic cases of COVID-19 in the workplace that may otherwise be missed leading to assistance in curbing the spread within the workplace, at home, and around the community.
- Small and medium-sized businesses are encouraged to visit www.chatham-kentchamber.ca to utilize the website as a one-stop-shop. Once on the site, businesses will link to book their appointment, sign their agreements, watch the training video, and complete their reporting all in one place. Screening kits can be scheduled on the website for pickup Chatham Kent Chamber of Commerce office 54 4th Street, Chatham, by appointment only.
- Each SME will be required to electronically submit their screening results after each occasion and will be recommended to screen staff twice weekly. The accumulated data will be reported to the Ministry of Health bimonthly.
- If a test results in a preliminary positive for COVID-19, the employee will be required to leave theworkplace, arrange for a PCR Test within 24 hours at an approved COVID-19 assessment site, and self-isolate until a confirmatory test result is received.
