Highlights of the May 2013 Chamber Minutes
from President, Carmen McGregor
Carmen reported on the minutes of the Executive meeting (included in packages). Joe Mares attended the Executive meeting. He was requesting permission to call chamber members in a phone call campaign for the Chamber Group Insurance; which is being done all over the province. The Executive gave Joe the go ahead.
Meeting attendance was discussed and has been referred to by-law updates.
The remaining outstanding membership renewals have been sent a letter along with a copy of the invoice. It has come to the office’s attention that quite a few members did not receive their membership renewals electronically, hence the mail out. From now on, invoicing will be sent out by mail.
Matt Montague discussed the treasurer’s report (included in packages). Revenues are up from this time last year. The finances look pretty good.
- Business Excellence/Special Events Committee: Carmen reported on the Business Excellence event. It was a great event. The only request was more seating as 3 hours was a long time to stand.
Gloria reported on the Special Events. On June 11th the chamber will be hosting an evening seminar with Western Union and Chamber Group Insurance. The Membership Fair will be held in October. Carmen will be meeting with Rob Lee to talk about doing a student breakfast with tours in the industrial sector. The next Business After Hours is on May 16, 2013 at Syd Rivers.
