Liz Kominek
I am a 67-year-old retiree. I graduated from the University of Guelph and went on to Teacher’s College. I have two children and 6 grandchildren. I worked for Canada Post Corporation for 34 years, 15 years as a Postmaster in the Thamesville and Dresden offices. As postmaster, I always felt a sense of service to “My Community” as we would deliver mail to all of Dresden and the surrounding rural area. I have always been interested in customer service, striving to provide customers with a pleasant shopping experience and in “growing the business.” As well it was important to create customer loyalty and problems solve any issues with our service.
I joined the BIA in 2009 and was a secretary for a few years and in recent years been a director. I have been active on several of the ad hoc committees such as the banner committee, Christmas decorating team, Night Market volunteer and the liaison with the Horticultural Society. My goal is to promote our great community and continue to support the local merchants. I have been told I have good organizational skills and able to work with others to motivate and get the job done. I feel there has been a rejuvenation of our town with the Night Markets, and I will continue to work with our BIA to make Dresden a destination town which is vibrant and welcoming.
