Education
On December 31, 1968, the Wallaceburg High School Board dissolved as a result of a reorganization plan, whereby jurisdiction was vested to the newly created Kent County Board of Education. Wallaceburg District Secondary became the largest school in the county. It also became a leader provincially. The Community School program as well as the Technology and Trades Centre served as models for other jurisdictions. Credit is directed to both the local and county boards for building Wallaceburg District Secondary School into one of the most progressive educational institutions in Ontario
