President’s Report

Carmen McGregor reported on the minutes of the Executive Meeting. The committee discussed the ongoing issues that occurred over the past month. Carmen has been in contact with the councillors to offer the Chamber’s assistance in facilitating meetings for the walking bridge committee as well as having a representative on the committee. Carmen discussed the Tourism Summit attended by three directors (Carmen McGregor, Mike Hatfield and Barbara McCaughrin). Carmen presented by-law changes that were recommended and will be sent to the AGM for approval.

Treasurer’s Report

Carmen McGregor reported on the financial reports (included in packages). The finances were discussed and forwarded to the In Camera session for further discussion. Full sign revenue will be coming in January 2014. Carmen met with Steve Outridge of Bailey Kearney Ferguson to go over the Chambers Finances.

Committee Reports

  • Special Events Committee: The Special Events Committee met prior to the board meeting to discuss the Bite Size Sessions. Due to the low number of registrants, the information session has been cancelled. There was a discussion in regards to future events and next year’s Business after Hours.
  • Marketing/Membership Committee: Karen Debergh reported on the Marketing/Membership committee. Renewal letters have gone out to sign advertisers to get a commitment for 2014, many have already paid. Ron was to follow up with the others along with contacting those on the our waiting list. Ron is working on the WAMBO side of the sign on Baseline and will be meeting with Randy at Mountain Shelter to discuss the sign project.

Board moved to In-Camera Session at 4:50 PM and returned to Open Session at 5:10 PM.
